How to Configure Camera Settings in Filmlight Pro

This guide will walk you through each camera setting available in Filmlight Pro, allowing you to accurately simulate your desired camera setup for cinematic projects.

Step 1: Access Camera Settings

First, click on the Camera button in the left-hand menu. This panel contains all the primary exposure controls for your simulated camera.

Step 2: Select Sensor Size

Choose your camera’s sensor size from the dropdown menu. This is a crucial first step as it affects the depth of field and other characteristics of your shot.

Options include:

  • Full Frame
  • Super 35
  • APS-C
  • Micro Four Thirds

Step 3: Set Your ISO

Select the ISO value from the dropdown. This setting determines your sensor’s sensitivity to light. A higher ISO is more sensitive but can introduce noise.

Step 4: Choose Your FPS (Frames Per Second)

Select your desired frame rate from the FPS dropdown. This determines the smoothness of motion in your final footage. Common cinematic frame rates like 24 and 48 are available.

Step 5: Adjust Your T-stop

Select the T-stop from the dropdown menu. The T-stop represents the actual light transmission of your lens, providing a more accurate measure than a standard f-stop.

Step 6: Set Shutter & Exposure Compensation

Finally, you can fine-tune your exposure.

      • Shutter Setting: Toggle between “Angle” or “Speed” to set your shutter. The default “Shutter Angle” of 180° is a common cinematic choice.
      • Exposure Compensation (+/- EV): Use this dropdown to make subtle adjustments to your exposure. A positive value will overexpose, and a negative value will underexpose the image.
